For this second box, I cut two sets from double sided paper because I doubled the number of pictures. I also put a strip on the inside rim of the bottom for a more finished look.
The next one I am going to make is for a baby shower. It will be for gift cards that the mom can later replace with photos.
After you cut the parts, you can ink them if you want.
1. Adhere the top to the top of the Altoids tin. For my first one, I used my Xyron to adhere it, but I ran out of tape, so for this one I used my ATP and a lot of tape and it seems just fine.
2. Adhere the strips to the top rim (align above the hinge) and bottom rim (align to bottom of box)
3. Adhere pieces to inside top and inside bottom rim (you cannot line inside top rim) and bottom of box. Do not put the bottom inside piece in yet!
4. For this part, I used score tape and cut it 2 pieces each 2 inches long. Align the score tape with the hinges. I used wide ribbon. I think if I had narrower ribbon, I would use 3 pieces and put one in the middle. I cut the ribbon 4.25" and centered it between the hinges.
5. Next step is cut a strip of neutral paper 2" x 12" and score it every 2 inches. For this project, I used two strips and joined them with a small strip so I could add more pictures. Fold in mountain-valley style, round the edges and ink. Inking the creases makes this background less visible.
6. Cut a ribbon approx. 3.25" long, fold in half and use a small amount of tape to hold the raw edges together. Adhere it in the middle of the first panel.
7. Begin adhering mats to all sides except the back of the last one.
I used glossy accents brushed on the outside to give a painted look to the paper and to protect it if I carry it around with me.
Decorate as desired. The ideal picture size is 1.5" x 3".
